Didier Drogba has again the hero as his striker early in the second-half won The Blues their fourth FA Cup in sixth years. However, the match was not without controversy as Liverpool striker Andy Carroll thought he had claimed a dramatic late equaliser only for his side only for his powerful header to be ruled out for not crossing the line.
For winning the Final Chelsea secured a place in the Europa League next season and £1,800,000 prize, with the Liverpool walking away with £900,000.
